The First Time I gave Birth Shatina Adams Brown Mackie College COM1101 M1 Some women say giving birth is easy or a piece of cake. Some say it was hard. But let me tell you the first time I gave birth which was four years ago on February 25, 2011 was one the worst pains I’ve ever felt in my life. Keywords: Labor, Birth, Hospital It was the day before. Everything was going as usual. I went to work, came home, and had dinner. Sometime during that evening I felt a pain here and there. It seemed normal to me like something I’ve felt before. My mother called me to check on me as usual. I explained to her the pain I was feeling. She says to me â€Å"Girl you’re in labor†. Thinking to myself if this is labor then I can deal with this. So like channel 6 she spread the news. One by one my sister Erica shows up, and my mother comes with my youngest sister and cousin. At this time we are all sitting around waiting and playing card games. Every five minutes or so asking, â€Å"Are you ok? How are you feeling?† I’m feeling fine.† I replied. So we’re all discussing how we can’t wait till he gets here. How we were going to rush to the hospital. They were trying to count the minutes in between my contractions. Finally my mom says, â€Å"Lets’ go to the hospita l.† At this point if these were the labor pains I was going to experience and this being the first time I didn’t know. I agreed.
